2024 Annual Meeting

The CUSP 2024 Annual Meeting was successfully held north of Santa Fe, New Mexico, on the lands of the Pojoaque Pueblo. This gathering brought together a diverse range of stakeholders from tribal nations, government, industry, and academia to explore critical topics around Carbon Management. A special thank you to all the speakers, panelists, and attendees who participated in this year’s event! Your invaluable insights and active participation in discussions on carbon management were instrumental in making this meeting a success. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Highlights of the meeting included a focus on the potential for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) within tribal nation energy initiatives, community engagement strategies, workforce development, updates from CUSP states, and several technical presentations from leading experts.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to New Mexico Tech President, Dr. Amouzegar, for his inspiring opening remarks, and to Secretary Designate Kenderdine for her insightful presentation on sustainable energy and carbon management. A special acknowledgment goes to all the tribal nation representatives for their critical contributions to the dialogue.

Thank you again to everyone involved for making this event a resounding success. We look forward to continuing the important work and partnerships initiated during this meeting!
